I’m a multidisciplinary artist who gets inspiration and strength from the life stories of my ancestors and family members. They went through the last decades of the Russian Empire, WWI, the communist revolution, WWII, Stalin’s Gulag, the collapse of the USSR, and Putin’s Russia. They tried to keep their human values, critical thinking, and inner strength. Their stories are sad and dramatic. The story about my father’s secret job in the KGB became a basis for my photobook project “Binom”.
I was born in USSR, I left Russia in 2022. Now I live in the USA (it was a troublesome journey). I know a lot about the mechanisms of self-reassembling in tough times. My art practice is about it. I want to inspire people to find the strengths inside themselves for a sustainable future.
